LOVE OF AN OBJECT

Perhaps we don’t love objects as such.  Perhaps it’s what we associate them with, who we associate them with, what they make us think of,  or just their beauty – especially if they are works of art.

The object could be a piece of jewellery,  a stone, a childhood toy, a hammer, a carving, a plate, a hat, a drawing. . .

In writing about love of an object you’d perhaps need to say a bit at first about what it looks like,  how it was made,   how you can to own it or know of it.   And then you can express all the associations you have about it.
