For Week Three: Train Journey,
using similes
This work is still on noticing
things. Describe a train journey so
that we feel we are ‘there’. Pick out
the revealing detail. Avoid clichés. Use similes.
You can describe one
particular journey, as if part of a story.
You can describe a journey you often make. You can focus on one aspect of the journey
such as other passengers (the attractive person you get into conversation with),
the things you see from the window,
You can write from the point of view of the first person (I)
the third person (he/she) or as as letter in the second person (you).
